This month, we are pleased to showcase our efforts this month in celebration of Black Excellence and in honor of Black History Month (USA) through a few initiatives.
Most notably, we partnered with HBCUs all over the United States to continue evolving our recruitment strategies and widen our talent pool. This partnership opened with an introductory panel of industry professionals to which we invited students, donors, and parents.
Additionally, our studio teams have re-evaluated their sourced vendors list to incorporate even more Black-Owned local businesses to support in each region. We celebrated Black filmmakers throughout history on social media through an interactive Instagram campaign. And finally, we partnered with bookstores across the United States to gift all our employees $25 towards a purchase at a local business.
We intend to grow and nurture these relationships with HBCUs and Black-Owned businesses moving forward.
In this issue, we celebrate more Black storytellers in our Film Featurette, written by Madi Sabo, and Giselle Arellena, Marketing Intern, offers an assortment of Black-Owned businesses in all US-based Harbor regions to support next time you purchase a book, buy a record, or process film.
This month, with the 2022 Olympics and Superbowl LVI, our Advertising production team shined through supporting major campaigns from top brands: Toyota, Planet Fitness, and Citi. As awards season approaches, we celebrate the nominations of our clients and colleagues, featuring our very own Rob Fernandez and Tony Volante, nominees for “Best Mixing” at this year’s CAS awards.
And finally, we end this jam-packed issue with a feel-good piece by our very own Drew Summers, reminding us that change is the only constant. A perfect piece to remind us that even though we’ve been busy these past couple months, the work we do now is worth it. We will grow from it, and, yes, this too shall pass.
