Ian Cymore is a highly accomplished supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer for both narrative and nonfiction film and television titles. He has collaborated with acclaimed filmmakers and documentarians, including Michael Tyburski, Edward Burns, Joel Edgerton, Chris Smith, Steven Soderbergh, Fisher Stevens, Jesse Moss, Barak Goodman, Rebecca Chaiklin, and Eric Goode.
Some of Ian’s most recent narrative projects include James Grey’s Armageddon Time, Ray Romano’s Somewhere in Queens, and the upcoming titles: Tayarisha Poe’s The Young Wife and Randall Park’s Shortcomings. He has also worked on notable nonfiction titles such as Jesse Moss’s Mayor Pete, Showtime’s The Lincoln Project, Netflix’s Amend: The Fight for America and Tiger King, and PBS’s Woodstock: Three Days that Define a Generation.
For his work on Tiger King, Ian received two Primetime Emmy nominations in the “Outstanding Sound Editing” and “Outstanding Sound Mixing” categories. He also received an MPSE Golden Reel nomination for Sweetbitter in the “Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing” category.
Most recently, Ian was nominated for a 2024 Primetime Emmy for Best Sound Editing for his work on Jim Henson: Idea Man.
