Damian Volpe is an Emmy Award-winning sound designer, supervisor, and re-recording mixer, working across the film, episodic, documentary, and experiential genres. Recently completed credits include Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu, Marielle Heller’s Nightbitch, Matt Ruskin’s Boston Strangler, Robert Eggers’ The Northman and The Lighthouse, Jesse Eisenberg’s When You Finish Saving the World, Karen Maine’s Rosaline, Kat Coiro’s Marry Me, and Marielle Heller’s A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood.

Damian has collaborated with some of the industry’s most renowned filmmakers and creatives, including Debra Granik, Robert Eggers, Marielle Heller, Ted Melfi, Mira Nair, Dee Rees, and Jim Jarmusch. In addition to his work on narrative projects, Damian designed sound for monumental art pieces, including Drawing Restraint 9, States of Unbelonging, and Last Address.

Damian was awarded both a Primetime Emmy Award and an MPSE Golden Reel for his work on Dee Rees’ Bessie. Additionally, he earned MPSE nominations for his work on Sweetbitter, Marco Polo, and Drive. Damian is a founding member of Harbor’s sound division and a working partner of ((Audience)), a non-profit group dedicated to presenting music sound art in new contexts, such as using movie theaters as concert halls.
