With high-end TV dramas, feature films, documentaries, and video games to his credit, James’ skills have secured him numerous awards and nominations: winner, “Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for Television” at the 2020 Cinema Audio Society (US) Awards for Fleabag; winner, “Best Sound Design” at the 2021 Music and Sound Awards for Truth Seekers; nominee, “Best Sound Design” at the 2020 Music and Sound Awards for his work on Killing Eve; nominee, “Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Dialogue and ADR for Episodic Long Form Broadcast” at the Motion Picture Sound Editors (US) Awards for Bodyguard.
James’ accolades and warm sensibility with talent are a result of long-standing collaborations with such filmmakers as Danny Boyle, Guy Ritchie, Susanne Bier, Alex Garland, and Joe Wright, on projects for major studios, streaming services, and networks such as Disney, Showtime, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Netflix, Amazon, Warner Bros, A24, and Sky. Recent highlights include Matilda, The Swimmers, Breeders, The First Lady, Men, Killing Eve, and The Thief, His Wife and the Canoe.
